About
Smadar Samson is a curator and designer who works at the intersection of social justice, art and design.
Having graduated in Industrial Design, Education and Psychology, Smadar founded Creatif, a design consultancy integrating Inclusive Design in museums, hospitals, parks, cultural and educational institutions throughout England and Wales for over fifteen years. Smadar was a senior lecturer in Design at Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design, and a course leader of MA Design for Disability program at London Metropolitan University.
In California, Smadar earned a Certificate in Therapeutic Uses of Art at UC San Diego and applied her work across therapeutic settings, public art, and social design. She holds a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Curating from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and, among other exhibitions, has curated major retrospectives at the Mingei International Museum, San Diego; CECUT, Mexico; Mesa Art Gallery, as well as an exhibition for social justice at the Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA), California.
